I Couldn’t See Myself Any More

I was watching Good Morning America this morning and heard this:
“I looked in the mirror and I couldn’t see myself any more.” [David Oyelowo, actor speaking of his physical transformation portraying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in a soon-to-be-released movie]dogwood

“…that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. [Eph 4:22-24]

Oh, that we could all experience this spiritual transformation fully, laying aside our burden, our spiritual likeness to Adam, and taking on the likeness of Christ. “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.” [Rom 8:22]

Lord, help me each day to experience continual renewal, allowing your Spirit to move in my life, bringing about real change.
